WHAT IS A ROOF COATING?
All roofing systems require proper maintenance in order to get the full lifespan. Coating metal and flat roofs can save you thousands in dollars in saving you in energy costs due to their high reflectivity and from replacing your entire roof! Most metal panels come with a coating from the factory they were manufactured from; once this coating starts to fade the roof will begin to rust and in most cases leak. Flat roofs do not require to be coated as often as metal roofs, but they will begin to deteriorate over time. It is best to apply a roof coating onto a flat roof that is starting to show signs of deterioration in order to prevent any leaks and to expand the lifetime of the roof!
THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF ROOF COATINGS SYSTEMS FOR METAL AND FLAT ROOFS
Below we will list some of the more common roof coatings. all our information comes from certified manufactures such as GAF, Progressive Materials and Mule Hide.
ACRYLIC ELASTOMERIC ROOF COATING
Acrylic coating is a effective coating for long term reflectivity. The main benefit in this coating is the ability to keep your roof cooler. this not only prolongs the life of your roof but saves energy costs. Acrylic coatings can be applied on most roof systems. Acrylic coatings come in many colors but are most commonly applied in white. We recommend applying a minimum of 2 coats. Acrylic coatings can be applied by brush, roller or airless sprayer and typically require a re-coat every 10-20 years.

SILICONE ROOF COATING
Silicone coatings are made by a mixture of solvents to produce a silicone base. Silicone roof coatings can be applied to most roofing materials either by roller or airless sprayer. unlike other roof coatings that require patching, silicone coatings not only coat your roof but seal it as well. Silicone coatings typically do not require more than 1 coat. Because of the durability of this coating, we guarantee it the same as we would with a new roof! This coating is our most recommended for your roof. Silicone roofs can last up to 10-20 years

ASPHALT EMULSION
Asphalt Emulsion is a solvent free roof coating, it is made from asphalt emulsified by clay and water. This coating is applied by brush and usually requires 1-2 coats. It is waterproof when dry and can be used to stop leaks with a reinforcing fabric. Asphalt Emulsion comes in a black color and can also be used for as a base coat for other roof coatings as well. Asphalt emulsion is best used on modified bitumen (Torch Down, Flat roof) and on masonry roofs.

ALUMINUM ASPHALT ROOF COATING
Aluminum roof coatings come in fibered and non fibered applications. These coatings work best when paired with a asphalt emulsion base coating. This coating is highly reflective and can reduce energy cost. Aluminum coatings also help seal small hair line cracks and only requires 1 coat. This coating can be applied by rollers, brush or airless sprayer (For non fibered applications)
